My original factory installed Vessel View has died, and apparently the dash gauges are getting their data via the Vessel View, because now they are dead too!

Since I have my MFDs integrated into the engine data, I’m still getting engine data on the plotters and don’t really need to replace the Vessel View. However, I would definitely like to have my gauges back online.

Any suggestions for working around the Vessel View to get the dash gauges back online?

I believe you need a merc mfd of some configuration to drive the link guages.
VV4 is probably the cheapest or a used system view. The gateway or link module will get the NMEA 2000 info to a mfd but you don't get all the diagnostic capabilities.

Your gauges work on the Vessel View network and your MFD works on a NMEA 2000 network. The 4 in 1 large gauges and speedometer can work by itself. They need a SC5000 (large display) or a SC1000 tachometer (the one with the LCD screen on the bottom) to feed the data into the other gauges.
If you want your gauges back you will need to replace your SC5000 or to get two SC1000 tachs. You can also upgrade to a VV4 or VV7.
You could also remove all the Mercury network gauges for NMEA2000 gauges or MFDs.

Thank you for the replies. This group always delivers on helpful advice. Seems a new VV is in my future...

I ended up putting in a VV502, with a new wiring harness. It's smaller than the original VV, but I was able to find a vendor that also provides a bezel to compensate for the slightly larger hole of the original VV.

The VV502 is not cheap and I'm disappointed that I had to spend so much money on a device, just to get my gauges back. I didn't need all the charting, GPS and other MFD capabilities of this unit, as I already have two other MFDs that are displaying engine data and etc. But at the end of the day, it was the only way that I could figure out how to get my gauges back...
