Buying my first boat..

So, after researching and shopping around for about 8 months I was almost positive I was going to buy myself a Mako Center Console. Well, I came across a nice Sea Ray 210 Dual Console (1999) with the 200 EFI 2 stroke on it for 12K with trailer. It was in my price range but in better condition and more practical than the other boats i found in my price range.

The motor has 82 hours on it and is in really good condition.. does anyone have any experience with this boat? is this a good deal? apparently the boat runs "like new" but may need stator replaced so i was able to get the price down to 11K. The guy is going to give me a water run this week to get a feel for the motor.


any pointers / advice would be appreciated!

That model is probably the biggest 21 foot boat you have ever been in. I have used it on the ICW and have taken one 20 miles offshore bringing home a load of dolphin and wahoo.

If the engine is what is appears to be ( got a mechanic to check compressions and shifting?) then you are golden. The boat is the boat and we can point you in the right direction on anything that comes up there. Want to PM me the HIN....I may be able to tell you more. 82 hours, you may have just come across a sweet barn-find.
