buying a seray in england

hi everyone..
im new to youre site ..
im about to buy a searay 270 1987 sedan bridge 26ft twin merc sports cruiser depending on sea trials and marine survay ..

a few questions i would like to ask the members is would i be better to have a survay out of the water or in it as at the moment it is on shore or over here we call it a hard standing, secondly are there any bad points to look out for and thirdly are mercs alpa one engines reliable they are 4.1ltr petrol
i would like as much information as possible on this model as its gona cost about 10000gb pounds if its good ..
