Hello,
First post here! NYC-resident, planning to purchase a SDX270 in the next couple months. It's my first boat purchase. My family has always owned a couple Searays (185 & 390) that I've been using my whole life, so I'm pretty familiar with what I'm signing up for. This has been a goal of mine for a long time and I'm excited to make it happen!
SDX270 seems to be the sweet spot for me. I'd like a boat that's nimble and zippy for wakeboarding / skiing but also has a head and some seating for day trips. I'd like to know a bit more about the last couple generations of the SDX270. Anyone have any insight about what features have been introduced over the last few years? Any year models that are particularly good value and/or plagued with issues? I was thinking inboard but could be convinced on outboard if someone has a compelling argument...
Also, any fellow NYC boat owners, I'd love to know more about your experiences purchasing and owning a boat here. I live in Chelsea and have been dealing with Marine Max at Chelsea Piers and Liberty Landing Marina in NJ. Any pitfalls, horror stories, tip, tricks, advice, etc are welcome!
Thanks,
Justin
