Buying a new 2008 44DB

How much do they want for the boat? How much for a complete engine and boat survey? Would you pay that much for insurance that told you there were no problems?

Get the surveys. Boats and engines don't do well sitting idle.

OK... this thread appears and disappears and the original question is?

The original question, as best that I could remember it, was that the boat was run for about 50 hours to transport it to the dealer. Once there, it remained in the water unused for about a year and a half. Wanted to know, since the boat was never titled and will be sold as new with a full warranty, if he needed to get a survey on the hull and engines.

Best regards,
Frank

It looks like he edited the post, then deleted the orginal one and replaced it with three???

Oh well... Yes get the survey man at $20/ft you are looking at $880... That is like what a little more then one full tank of diesel fuel for the boat. Well worth it I think. The mechanical review by a certified tech will run you more then the survey but also a very good thing to have done to the boat before settling on her if she has been idle in the water. Both will aid in the final negotiations on the boat.
