Buying a 1989 Searay 220 Cuddy Cabin...
Hello Everyone,
I'm new to this site and thought it would be the perfect place to find fellow SeaRay owners. After searching for a family boat and deciding I didnt want to pay $30 - $40 K for a new boat, the wife and I decided to buy a 1989 Searay 220 Cuddy(we feel like we're getting a great deal). The boat has been maintained well but she's showing some signs of age such as little things here and there broken or missing, the gauges need to be rewired, and eventually I want to get it repainted.. It has been kept in the same covered boat slip for the past 20 years and has served the prior owners well. The guy took us out and she runs very smooth as she glides across the lake. It has the Mercruiser 5.7, 260 Hp motor.
What I'm trying to find out is basically any info that might be helpful in taking on a boat that is this old. I look forward to sharing our experiences with you all.
