gasoline
If the survey works out I plan to explore the NYS canal system, including up into Lake Champlain, which I have sailed several times for 2 or 3 days at a crack. After fooling around in the Erie Canal and the two finger lakes attached, in the next year I plan to do a "big loop" west in the canal to lake Erie, north and then west and south to the Ohio river, then north in the Mississippi to visit my kids and grandkids in Minneapolis, then south to New Orleans, and upon sobering up and getting fat enough on oyster po'boys, heading down the Mississippi and into the Gulf of Mexico to visit one of my many ex-wives in St. Pete, then around the FL peninsula and eventually back up the Hudson where I started.

I'm a 390 fan, and the gassers in my 400 have treated me so well that I just get quiet when people say that a big boat shouldn't have gassers, or that gassers are only good for 1,000 hours or that (gulp) diesels will promise a low cost of ownership etc...

Having said that, I wouldn't take my boat on the loop. The cost of fuel alone will pay for a boat better suited to journeys that are several thousand miles long.

Welcome! You plan surely looks interesting. It will be great to see a 390 doing such a trip!...please keep us updated.

The 390 is a great boat and you'll be able to spend long periods of time on it without feeling cramped. Have fun!
