I love the part about the passerby in a canoe. I mean, who is out on the River in the DARK in a canoe this time of year?

I had the same reaction. Something smells fishy....

The article makes little sense to me.

Are we saying he was running the bilge heater while the boat was on the water?

Perhaps the heater was in the cockpit with the pilot (isn't it pretty cold in NJ now? I don't know. . .I am not on the East Coast at the moment).

A Canoe on the river at 8pm in December? I bet he had a space heater too!
