I've got the boat off the trailer for a gimbal ring repair. I found a couple of the bunks have torn carpet. I noticed all bunks have two layers of carpet. Only the top layer is torn on two boards. Should I remove all carpet and reinstall only one layer or do most have two layers. Will any out door carpet work or do I need special carpet. Thanks for any help.

I would buy the bunk carpet. You may have two layers due to the weight of your boat.
I redid the bunks on my 180 before and one thing I was told to do was not overlap the carpet on the bottom to help water drain.
It's a fairly simple job.
Do a search for bunk carpet and you should find plenty of options and maybe BOE has it??

I have re-done my trailer bunks with outdoor carpet from Lowes at a better price then most places. I only used 1 layer and so far it has held up for about 4 years. I use the trailer for winter storage and pull the boat out mid-season for inspection. Don't forget to use stainless staples.
