Happy Sunday!!
Quick question on my 2009 SD the radio in the cabinet only works when you control the radio itself. The remote rebuilt in keypads next to the steering wheel and the one on the transom do not do anything. I'm not with the boat until later today but is there anything specific I should look at. I'm assuming if the radio isn't original to the boat that should not matter?

Post pics of the head unit and the remotes when you get there.

Finally got to the boat. I posted pics of the stereo, built in keypad near the steering wheel and the built in keypad on the transom. The one near the steering wheel is digital so shows the radio station that's playing. Neither keypads can change anything. Funny thing is they both light up. When you change the radio station on the radio itself the digital keypad will display the correct station. Is there a way to enable and disable the the built in keypad functions?

I didn't see anything in there about troubleshooting the remotes.

Fot the X11M, it looks like the illumination is wired separately so there could be an issue with the wiring that controls the functions. You could try doing a hard reset on the head unit. Or check to make sure the remote(s) are even plugged into the head unit for starters.
