I have a detailer starting on the compounding & waxing of my boat from the waterline to the top of the radar arch in the morning. Total price...$800...roughly $20/ft in the water. He is planning to use Aqua Buff and Meguires No. 63 Flagship Wax. Let's see how this turns out.

I had a guy detail my boat after I bought it. he used the Meguiars liquid compound. It did a great job and left hardly any swirl marks. It brought the fiberglass back to new condition. Then I put 3 coats of polish on it after he got done.

I love that Meg. Flagship wax, it is the only thing I have found that lasts me *almost* a whole season on my boat. I use it on my hull with one application per year and it still looks new every time I go to redo it!

Well...back to the drawing board....the detail guy called me at 8:45 this AM to tell me that he has a problem with his insurance. He found out yesterday but neglected to call me. My marina allows no contractors without insurance. Now I'm on the hunt again for someone else. Seems like the boat service people are sort of like tradesmen...every body has a story about why they didn't show up.:smt013

Stay Tuned...

Does your Marina have to know?

Yep...they watch it like a hawk too. There are a few "regular" contractors in there that act like they own the place and they jack their numbers up because they can. When some one they don't know shows up, the regular guys put the "stink eye" on them 'bad" and try to freeze them out any way they can.

I have spent most of today over at my marina trying to get this set up for tomorrow...I'll let you know how it goes.
