DO NOT attempt to put in at Bucksport Landing on the Waccamaw with a cruiser! We called 2 weeks ago to the marina and they said we were fine. Well...had to get pulled out today! Our 4WD-lo 250 desiel had to be assisted by another 4WD! We had no water and only about 1/4 gas. The ramp is steep, half grate and half concrete, then turns to small gravel on the front tires when the boat/trailer is only halfway up the ramp. A nice passerby helped us out because the marina store is not even open for business yet and the restraunt only had kids in it that were of no help. The "rescue" guy said they were putting in two new ramps after they got the camping spots finished and opened up the store but did not know when it would be. And to top it off, the boat was not on straight so we had to drive in to Conway to back down and straighten out again before trailering home. BTW...I can assure you it was HOT today!
