nice ride....we just bought a 78 SRV 240 and its in perfect nic....these older boats are great....have fun with it

we have a '78 220 OV and her lines are just a little different, but still a real gem of a boat. Hope you love yours and get as much enjoyment out of it as we do out of ours.

well...have had it out about 6 times now...gotta say....LOVE IT!!!
still trying to get teh hang of the power trim tabs, my first boat that has these...
Mechanically, she is great.
She needs some TLC on the interior.
few things i have to get:
Power inverter
Water holding tank
new weatherstriping for windows
1 new windshield wiper motor

rest of the interior is nice, just dated.
PO recovered most of the seats, but it looks as though some pieces are missing along the back.

If anyone has any pictures, or links to brochures, literature for this sexy boat, please send them

Thanks,
Daniel

...still trying to get teh hang of the power trim tabs, my first boat that has these...

Somewhere recently on here there was a pretty good thread on the basics of using trim tabs - assuming they're still wired as originally. Do a search and I'll try and find the same.

thanks,,,that does help. i do need to carefully apply some paint to the raised letters on the trim 'joystick' knob...some of the paint is faded and a little hard to read.

So you have the joysick instead of the buttons then? Never used one of those, although I did buy one used a while back when I was replacing the pad on the 260, never installed it though - wasn't sure if it was a direct swap and didn't feel like experimenting...

any suggestions as to how to get that egg-shell colored fiberglass looking white again??

Wet sanding and a buffer. :smt021. I did mine it looks like new again. :smt038. PS Nice looking boat you have. :smt001

I buffed mine using a premium medium grade rubbing compound, it's in a green bottle and I picked it up at wal mart for about $6.00 a bottle and then buffed at a low RPM and that does the trick then I used the same turtle wax brand premium grade polishing compound at about 2000 rpm the bottles look identicle only one is a rubbing compound and the other is a polishing compound and these products work as good as any carbrite brand I used in my detail shop I then finished it off with the original hardshell turtle wax it works really well.

I'm thinking....hull...high gloss black...cap...bright white, but didn't want to paint the cap..gonna try buffing it...
the cap is still shiny and slick, i am assuming that the cap was never really "white"

Like I said, I never have seen this model. The layout is pretty slick.

Black hull and white cap would be perfect. The blue interior just might go well with that??

There was a guy on here that wrapped his hull. It looked good and last I heard was holding up real well. Just an idea.

if i go with black bottom and white on top....i'll redo the interior in the same color scheme
