Need help with the floor of a 1978 SRV207. The floor around the ski locker has rotted. The flooring will have to be removed and then rebuilt. The floor is soft in different areas so it will end up being a patch repair not a full replacement, but the front corner does go underneath the storage area which is a sealed area. What I am looking for is a good book, web site, ect. that someone might know of that will help outline the cutting, replacement, and refiberglassing these areas. A great help and wish is if someone has info related strictly to this model. Thanks for any help, and if you looked at this thread and could not help thanks for reading it to see if you could have helped.

From what I have gathered from others, this may be the tip of the iceberg. You may find extensive rot to stringers etc. (I hope you don't).
I would mentally prepare for what may lie beneath. Good luck, hopefully others will weigh in with direct experience.

Thanks Quint 4, I am also concerned what lies in wait for me below the flooring. What gives me some peace of mind about it, is all of the soft spots are where the ski locker door support bracket screws into the flooring's edge. The rest of the floor is as it should be and the foam I can inspect is dry. Just wondering about that storage area as most everything is wood with fiberglass over it but that area seems to be a molded peice.

Go to "shipshapetv.com" There should be good info on their restores on that site.

Good Luck,

Thanks Gary, I will head that way now.

Search for friscoboater. He did a total rebuild.

My thanks to both OldSkool and BigIslandLifer for their recomendations. I looked both builds up. I like Ikes ending tag line (not to take anything away from his rebuild tho) and I like the idea Friscoboater had about gelcoating the floor. I don't know how far I can get with the winter months around the corner, might be to outline the project and start it in the spring with supplies and knowledge in hand to make things go faster.
