So someone slapped on some ugly orange sickens cetol for years as cover up. Have a lot of sanding/cleaning in this but we'll worth it.

Looks great! What you use using as a finish coat? I'm thinking about re-finishing my teak as it has the same "stuff" on it as well...

You can try pressure washing old swim platforms before refinishing...it is probably tough on the wood but it sure is quicker!!!
Btw...what's wrong with cetol??? I always liked the way it looked.

It's a matter of personal preference. I use the Cetol Natural and it looks great IMO.

When Cetol goes on over teak that has aged, or dirty, or been sealed it can look like fake suntan because it can't soak into the wood.

The stuff that's on my teak is orange in color and no grain showing through (it may not be Cetol). Everyone has their own opinion of personal preference for teak finish.
SearayEd1's second photo looked good and I wanted to know what he used to finish it with.

Thanks guys. With sickens u couldn't even see wood grain.
Have to say my dad converted me to high quality waterproof deck sealant. Olympic 6year semi transparent cedar/natural tone. Pick is one coat. 3 light coats dry 24hrs between....
