Bridge speakers stopped working

Maybe you should consider running all your speakers off the head unit or change that out instead of putting in a new amp. I see you asked the question earlier but didn't get an answer. I don't know about the Clarion, but a modern head typically has a fairly powerful amp and can drive a number of speakers. I checked my Fusion MS-RA770 manual and it has a 280 watt amp and will drive two zones with four speakers per zone for a total of eight. Seems like it might be easier to change out and likely similar cost. Probably not the solution an audiophile would like but if you're not in to high volume and the best sound it might be enough.

A new head unit gets you bluetooth, as well.

Thanks Alnav, I did order the snake camera hopefully I will be able to see the connections on the amp. My clarion M109 has maximum power output of 200w (50W x 4 ch). Don't think it can power 8 speakers. If I go with a new power head, and eliminate the amplifier, how much power do you think I need to power 8 speakers?

The reality is, to a single 4 ohm speaker, the wattage is 15-18, not 50W. You cannot drive two 4 ohm speakers in parallel @ 2 ohm. So this leaves the only option of 8 ohm. This essentially halves the wattage, netting each speaker something like 4W each.

There are some media units that can drive a 2 ohm p/chnl load, but the wattage is typically not as good as it is from a larger external amp. Now, for 1 to 2 pair of salon speakers, they dont need a lot of wattage unless you really like to crank it to 11. However, I would caution against low media unit wattage for outside speakers that compete with wind, water and engine noise while underway.

With the help of the snake camera I was able to identify the Clarion Amp., It is a Clarion A1004, 50W X 4. I am pretty sure this amp was around during the 8 track era. Any suggestions on what would be a good replacement unit that I could mount elsewhere?? Will attempt to cut the wires going to the old amp; power, amp turn on, and ground, 2 rca plugs and 4 speaker wires. Thanks

If you dont need to have FADE, i'd suggest the Kicker KMA1502. If you need FADE, then go with the KMA3604.
