So....my bridge a/c stopped working and there is no read out on the thermostat. So far I have checked the breaker which is on. The Cruisair electrical box has power. I have a spare thermostat so I switched that out and no change. So I'm assuming it's something in the cruisair electrical box. Should I be replacing the entire box or is there something I should change in the box?

Steve,

I'm not sure what feeds the SMX thermostat (feed from control box or battery). My thermostat for bridge air is powered by 2AA batteries. Since you swapped the thermostats and the same rtesults, I'd assume that the feed is coming from control box. But this should be easy to find out by looking at your unit's electrical diagram. I'd preliminary say that your issue is at the control box, where the triggers are and the feed to the pump. I'd start by reviewing the elec diagram and tracing the points where the power (starting with low voltage) is expected and where is it failing.

I would also make a call to Cruise Air tech support and ask their opinion on direction.

The bottom line with your issue is that the thermostat is the primary "switch" to send a call to the control box to turn the unit on. Then the "call" goes to a dedicated unit's trigger located in the control box. Anything at the thermostat level should be low voltage, so I'd focus on that before troubleshooting the high voltage systems. The issue could be as simple as loose connection between the control box and the thermostat or between the thermostat and the unit.

P.S. everything above is based on my knowledge of self-contained units. I know that your bridge has a split system. However, I think that the basic operation would carry similar order of events and connections. Obviously, my post doesn't solve your issue, but if it helps you get a head start in the right direction, it's better than being at a stand still.

Good luck and let us know what you find.

Thanks for your input Alex. My thermostat does not have batteries and I concluded also it must be in the control box. I am waiting on a call back from Cruisair. At a minimum, I say one of the components on the circuit board went bad. I just don't know if I need to change the entire circuit board or one particular part. Fortunately, Cruisair referred a local service and parts vendor that is 2 minutes from where my boat is docked.

Good to see you guys at the Miami boat show. I ended up buying a life raft on Friday, taking advantage of the boat show pricing.....
