bravo III from alpha I swap

I've been running alpha's for decades with out problems(other than self inflicted).Alphas have a updated upper brg. and housing(bigger and stronger). Also jasper sell alphas with a warranty. Unless you are into performance I personally don't see spending the major $$$ for a new set up.

i think that means you have to pay 1/2 th balance of mine then.:smt100
was able to get some numbers from merc. on drive

2.2 ratio and a 24 pitch prop set. i'm guessing both props have to be the same pitch on a 2 prop drive?:huh:

I just found that site yesterday morning. That's where I got my repower prop specs from.
Another CSR member had already done a lot of research on the most efficient gear ratios with the Bravo 3 drives.
A lot of his info came from performance boat people.
The prop and ratio numbers he gave me 2.2:1 with 26'P prop is also what I came up with for Mid range cruising on the Merc site. Very cool:thumbsup:
Im within 500 to 1000 pounds of being overproped with the 26"Pitch

Mercury prop selector you can.....
Spec out different ratios, drives, engines, boat weights, What your intended purpose is,etc.
I wonder how fast your boat is with a 496 Mag :smt017 :grin:

Yes, both props have the same pitch. And one prop is a little bigger then the other.
They also need to be mounted in a cloverleaf pattern.
You should get better mpg, 10% And your cruise rpm vs speed should be better. Ive read about 3 mph better.
That's what Ive consistently read, on the 26' boats.
