Bravo II I/O's
I am in the process of acquiring a 1991 350 Sundancer with Bravo outdrives. The decal on the housing indicates that it is a Bravo I while the owner insists that it is a Bravo II. I was told that the part number of the installed props is 18616-40-21P and in my book that would make it a II. I would prefer the II but it is not a deal breaker either way.
Does anyone have any advice on what else to check?

I think you will need the drive serial number to be sure.

The prop on a bravo II is massive. Mine is 18 3/4 inches across. The only difference in Bravos is the lower part of the drive (and props). I bet you have bravo I's which is fine for your set up. Bravo IIs are usually used in a single configuration for 30' or so cruisers.
Here is a pic of an Alpha prop (similar in size to a Bravo I prop) next to my Bravo II.

Thanks all for the comments.
Here is a picture of the drives and maybe that will help.

Hope this helps...

Bravo One Sterndrive Unit serial# B664190 and Above
Bravo Two Sterndrive Unit serial# B892613 and Above

From Mercruiser website:
Bravo 1: With a focus on high speed performance, the Bravo 1 sterndrive is used for single, twin or triple engine applications and can produce speed up over 100 mph for gas engines up to 600 HP. In addition to triple-digit speeds, the exclusive performance torpedo design and dual water pickups allow the Bravo 1 to handle high and low speeds well.
Bravo 2: The Bravo 2 sterndrive is designed for twin engine applications and can power a boat up to 55 mph for gas engines up to 450 HP. With a wide gear case, the Bravo 2 is able to accommodate a propeller up to 20” in diameter that propels a boat on plane faster and improves fuel economy.

Bravo II prop shaft diameter is much larger than a Bravo I. I think that Bravo II decal sets are harder to find than Bravo I. Its possible the drives were repainted and re-decalled using Bravo I decals.

Thanks to all who replied.
The deal has been done and I am now the second owner of a 1991 350 Sundancer with twin Bravo II outdrives ( yes, they are B2's apparently a special order when the boat was purchased new ).
1983 270 Sundancer with tri-axle 5th wheel trailer will be going up for sale as soon as winter is done.
Up here that could be another 6 month.
