I was reading online (shocker).. that the Vetus bow thrusters upgraded their propellers a few years ago to a 6 blade configuration..

we were looking at mine the other day and saw it's a 3 blade..

i would like to order a new one but don't know which model was installed from the facotry..
tried searching all over the forum and couldnt find anything..

I cant get to the boat til the end of the week as it over 40 miles away..
I would like to swap it out this weekend as im running out of time before it gets splashed..

does anyone know the model number that is usually installed or correct one?

while in there im going to change the zinc as well so all information will help..

05 390DA

Given the time constraints, I think a call to SR Corporate with your HIN is in order. One to Vetus couldn't hurt either.

The prop is vetus SET0088
The zinc is. CAMP BP-1185

I'm no help on this one Rick but I have found Defender has good prices on Vetus parts. I know for ours there was two sizes that were available, we went with the bigger of the two. I'd call the factory they are pretty helpful when it comes to support like this.

I think I read on here the other day of someone who went from a 3 blade to a 6 blade and found that the blades touched the walls so they had to trim them a bit. This may be a non issue for you but I'd do a search to be sure. If I come across the thread i'll post it here.

I wish, $43.99 for the zinc. And I grabbed a spare prop kit just in case for another $96.00 But its $10 cheaper than Defender and no CT rapist sales tax LOL

You can get the zinc, along with all your others, at boatzincs.com

Thanks Brian, I got all my other zincs from them last year. Typically they are cheaper and no state sales tax.

We have an 07 40 sundancer. I will check tomorrow if we have the 3 blade or 6 blade.

What are the advantages of the 6 blade?

I have a 6 blade, seems to work very well. There was two models that could have gone on our boat, I went with the bigger one just because I figured it's better to run a larger one shorter than overpower a smaller one in an emergency or stressful situation.
