No boat....no engines
This past weekend I bought a very slightly used DJI Phantom Standard drone. They appear to be about $500 new and I paid $250. It flies well and I am really looking forward to taking some boating video with it. I have had several smaller drones but this is the first one with GPS and this level of sophistication.

So a question for you drone users. Some of you have posted awesome aerial video and I am wondering what video editing programs you use. I would like to be able to do fade in/fade out, other editing as well as add graphics and sound/music. I would also like something that is simple to use but offers good tutorials. I've done a couple of searches but the are quite a few to choose from and it's hard to know what might be best.

Thanks, looking forward to seeing what you have to say.

i used windows movie maker about 5 years ago to do a short video for my daughter's first birthday. it was okay. the usability was great and straight forward, but it really got bogged down when finalizing the video. it was only a few minutes long. i was able to transition through multiple pictures and videos along with providing a soundtrack in the back. it was also free, so worth a shot. sure ain't no adobe premier, though.

Join phantompilots.com Great information. They talk about what you are asking.

If you have a Mac, imovie is easy and fairly powerful.

Give Premiere Pro a try. It can sure make professional movies with all the bells and whistles, but it can also be very straightforward while still getting you a polished finished product. As you use it more you can learn to do some really cool things. TONS of tutorials on youtube to do just about anything you can imagine. The downside now is all the new adobe apps are subscription only, Premeire is $20/month with a 1 year commitment, which is annoying. I'd rather just buy the software outright.

There should be a free trial right on their site that you could try out. You'll need a decent PC for it to run smoothly.

I use it to edit all my gopro/mavic footage

Edit: Here's a video I shot and edited tonight. I had about 15 minutes of footage. The editing took me about 45 minutes including watching the raw stuff, color grading, and all cuts.
