Bottom Paint Learning Experience

Thanks for all of the advice, Everyone!

At the end of they day, the yard looked into the prep requirements of Interlux for use over Pettit and they sanded most of the hull. $1150 more than I thought the job was going to be. Hopefully it lasts a good 3 years, and at the first sign of white, I'm pulling it for the next bottom job. I'll probably have to switch paints again, as the copper ban will probably be in full effect. Although, I think Interlux already has a non-copper paint that hopefully is compatible.

Thanks again...

Kevin

As I said earlier, why did you you not just take it to Mexico?

Is that not an option as it is in the Bahamas?

It might be, but...some issues I have - fuel costs, comfort level, time from Work, comfort level, lodging costs, comfort level, etc.

In the end, I don't know if I would have saved anything, but might now have a bullet proof paint job.
