HI all, I am getting ready to paint the bottom of this boat and wanted to know how many gallons I would need to paint the bottom of my 260 sundancer. I am going with a black. any suggestions? as this will be my first time doing this!! wish me luck?

Hey Matt, this spring I repainted mine in a black colour to cover over the previous red and only used 1 gallon which did two coats. I scraped the bottom with a wire brush and painters scraper to remove all loose previous paint, I suggest a good mask, and safety goggles worked best for me. Don't try to re apply a second coat before the first has totally dried as you will only lift off the fresh paint in the roller. Have some Aleve handy as I ached for a week or more, but it was worth the pain as it totally change the whole look of the boat.

GOOD LUCK!!

^^^ pretty much this. Most paints will give you just enough for 2 coats per gallon on the 260.

I had to get a second gallon to cover the 270 twice, but that was not all bad as I have been using the extra 3 guarts for touch ups for 4 years.
