:huh:Does anyone else do any boating north of Beaufort, NC? I do quite a lot around the Pamlico sound out to Ocracoke and venture up to Manteo now and then. Every third Friday in Washington, nc they have music in the streets thats fun to bring the boat to. Looking for any other spots on the Alblemarle, Pamlico and anywhere else close by( within 80 miles) thats worth going to.

We're planning our first trip north to Beaufort around mid March in our 260 and looking for some hotels/B&B's in the area that also offer wetslips (kids are staying ont he boat, but the wife wants a real bed).

The plan right now is to stay in/around Morehead/Beaufort and cruise the immediate area to shackleford banks and Cape Lookout. Any local area info or tips for the area?

thanks

Good topic, We are also planning on checking out this area. We drove thru it in a car last summer and loved the town. There are alot of docks and mooring bouys right in town. We are also going to be checking out hotels and BBs. Last summer we launched from Southport or Carolina beach a few times, so we wnt to look into other areas.

Im not sure about places to stay and sleep (we stay on our boat) but I know if you stay at the Beaufort public docks there are very nice places to eat and shop right accross the street. Clawsons restaraunt is very good. If your staying in Morehead, (from the inlet side) go under the first big bridge and turn to port. There is a very good marina there (I think it's Morehead yacht basin). There are plenty of places to go and things to do.

Check out inlet-inn.com ,in Beaufort. They are on the water across the street from the town docks which is where your boat will be. I stayed there a few nights last year while down for fishing trips and it was a very nice place and very reasonably priced. I'm thinking a March trip to Beaufort myself if we still have the boat then...
Hope it helps

Thanks for the info. We're also looking at the beaufort-inn.com This will be our first long distance trip in the 260 so we're a bit excited. Our longest trip so far has been from WB to Snows Cut :)

If you decide to make the trip in March, let us know... we'll keep an eye out for you.

thanks
Robb
