Boating cost comparison calculator

ya I'm calling BS on the 10% of costs are fuel, storage, insurance and maintenance. I'd say more like 50%. although I'm not a good judge since that's 100% of my costs
 
I wish 10% for fuel and storage.... $500 a tank, $1800 slip fee...

I call total BS on this website. I spend $2,400/year just on slip rental. I spent about $3,500 on gas last summer.

In comparison, my FZ1 cost me $350 in tires, $800 on gas, and $0 on storage (in my garage). So, $1,150 for the year. Uh, yah, not even close.

BUT, the soft cost is where it's at. On the bike, I'm the only one having fun while my wife and son are left at home. On the boat, EVERYONE is having fun together. So, bike costs me $1,150 per person. The boat costs me $1966 per person. Even less if you factor in all the other family, friends, neighbors, and kids that also joined on various weekend outings. And sometimes seeing your family have fun is more fun than having fun yourself.
 
I don't even want to know how much. When I have extra cash I spend it on the boat and the use thereof. No calculator works with that kind of math.
