All seemed to be well, then my last outing I cannot get on plane. Boat is an '06 290DA, 4.3's with around 140 hours. The trim tabs are up, boat is trimmed down (all is just normal), there is no odd load on the boat. The port side engine will only hit 3000 rpm, the starboard engine tops out at 3500 rpm. There doesn't seem to be any damage to the outdrives, I haven't hit anything and I haven't been in shallow water. There are barnacles on the props but hardly an excessive amount. Any ideas?

yeah.....

you have barnacles on your running gear. Clean it.... all will be good.

Barnacles are like pregnancy... no such thing as "a little pregnant"

I agree. Barnacles are an efficient brake. That would be the first order of business. If nothing else has changed, it might be good to have it hauled and washed. The $$ spent will be returned in gas savings.

Prop condition is paramount with bravo 3's... think of the surface area / drag of all 4 props... they have to be perfectly clean for efficient operation.

agree with all that a foul bottom will create drag and you will not be able to plane
Call Diver Diver Diver and they will give it a good clean while in the water - they are in Huntington harbor 631 423 9420 -

Thanks fellas. I'll crawl under the boat today. It will be great news if just some hard work will take care of this issue...
