Tomorrow I'll be cleaning the algae off! Wish me luck!I can almost guarantee its algae on the bottom
Perfect! I'll be doing that tomorrow! I'll let you know how it goes!I can tell ya. In nj all boats fight this problem through the season. If i am in the water enjoying the day. The first thing i do is scrub the waterline, clean the bottom and scrape the drives. You will see the difference. My friends laugh at me tho, i put on a life jacket, snorckel, tie a rope to me and go to work. Takes about 15 minutes but well worth it and no need to take boat out. On any given day you will see other boaters doing the same
Good, never do alone. If im in the water i have to use a snorkel to get to drives too clean cause the swim platform is low to the water. I have bonked my head if a boat zooms by and causes a wave. Good luck and be safe
Update!
I could only get to 3100 rpms both sides at WOT.
I cleaned the bottom as best I could from the dock, then I could get to 3400 rpm both sides at WOT. But still no plane, just a massive wake.
Got a haul and power wash this morning, took it out and hit 35 mph on plane which is better than I thought.
Sooo, it was a dirty bottom? And your speed and rpm sounds about right. Good job and happy boating
What are your WOT rpms now?
About 4200 or so is the highest I went. Not sure I was fully WOT at that point and there might have been some more. 3800 is the usual planing rpm for me so I normally would back it down and not run over 4k as the fuel burn is higher.
Sounds much better than before. Not sure what the spec. is for your boat but it's always good to check and make sure you can reach max rpms as this is a great health check/test to insure healthy and well performing engines.
BoatTest has all the performance figures ... but for the 350s not the 305s
When in doubt, check the sticker!

Down here in salt water it happens only when the barnacles build up and my diver misses his every 2 week appointmen. Looks like the person with the question joined the site, asked the question, got the answer and disappeared not letting others know if he found the solution! But had to be the bottom preventing the boat from plaining. It could be trim tabs however that would be the first thing you would look at.Perfect! I'll be doing that tomorrow! I'll let you know how it goes!

Not sure I understand? Sundancer 280 joined and asked the question. But maybe I missed where he found the solution. I read thru it quickly and will read again. My mistake if so. Just looked back thru I guess 2 people had the issue but the original one I dont see if he got it resolvedCheck post #28
