Boat Will Not Plane or Even Take Off!!

Not sure I understand? Sundancer 280 joined and asked the question. But maybe I missed where he found the solution. I read thru it quickly and will read again. My mistake if so. Just looked back thru I guess 2 people had the issue but the original one I dont see if he got it resolved
You’re correct! I thought they were the same.

280, I figured it had to be the issue because I have had it happen before except it was barnacles. When I was pretty new to boating I freaked out when all of a sudden I could not even come close to getting on plane. So now I get it cleaned every 2 weeks here in florida during the summer and get it painted every 18-24 months. The summers down here are brutal and if not cleaned every 2 weeks there is no way to get it on plane. Glad you figured it out and you will now always know !

That makes two of us!

How are you doing for RPM and MPH?

I put my boat in the water in NJ in early May, by June we have the June Blume of barnacles, get out and scrape. In July we have the alge growth, get out and scrub, Aug repeat and repeat. I make sure even if its for a small cruise to take her oit and air her out. Keeps the fuel fresh and the bottom clean. If we hit the sandbar first thing i do is scrub the waterline, scrape the bottom and clean the drives. BOATS are like wifes, if ya dont treat them right and keep them clean your weekend is ruined
