Boat tool kit

One thing we don't need anymore - a can of sawdust. A must have if you have a wooden hull. I cant remember all the times we stood on the bottom at belly button beach (Worton Cr MD) and rubbed sawdust over leaks in the boat I grew up on.
The tarp is a brilliant idea. I've heard of other things being used, but this sounds far better. Maybe that's why we found one onboard when we bought the boat?

I can fix mostly anything with a multimeter, an 11 in 1 screwdriver, an adjustable wrench, all in one Allen set, and a pair of lineman’s pliers. A hammer, a pair of strippers, a crimper and a bottle of bourbon rounds out the rest

honorable mention to the M92inox for solving other problems if need be

Dump that Italian POS and get yourself an American made M&P.
say whatever you wanna about Beretta, but it fits my hand and shoots dead on true. My EDC is an m9a4

My s&w 1911 hasn’t been great and soured me on them a bit

Brother, whatever helps you make hits under stress is all that matters. Keep on rocking the 1911.

Personally, I haven't seen one of them make it through a high round count class.

Frankly, I just told you to go to an M&P, yet I've been rolling with a G19 for at least 25 years, and I don't wanna change. I'm a hypocrite.

I have a 19 as well. Pure dependability but I’m not super accurate with it. Good group but i keyhole with the m9

I try to avoid any situation where I may have to find out how accurate I am under stress

A few years ago we met a couple in their 80ies on a converted 65 foot tug. Nice boat. I asked what they carried for tools and parts. He showed me his cell phone.

Put whatever you want in the tool box. You know that when the time comes, the tool you need is home on the workbench!

I was fighting changing the spark plugs on my 350 mag for the first time, trying to do it by feel because there is no way to see under the manifolds. Man a mirror made all the difference in the world. A mirror will now be a permanent item in my tool chest

I have every tool I need for anything that could possibly go wrong …until something goes wrong.
Never be on a first name basis with a hardware store owner in a small town next to the marina……you’ll go broke

I think @highslice meant or said tape, rescue tape is for hose's that get hot, the tape will help seal any small leak. It also works on cold hoses, but best on hot ones.
Yes, I said Rescue Tape. It is a self fusing silicon tape. It will seal leaks in hoses, hot or cold. It can also act as electrical tape. And if you don't have a spare serpentine hose and yours breaks, it can even be fashioned into one. You need a big roll for that.

That stuff is amazing. I had a brand new, way over priced backflow preventer crap out on my a year back. I used half a roll to keep the unit from leaking until the plumber could come back a few days later (I refused to stop watering my lawn :)). This thing was under full municipal water pressure, zero leaks.

I should have referenced this stuff when @Blueone was talking about DIY birth control last week. It's legit :)

I carried a spare raw water pump on our old 320 DA. Snapped the shaft on the raw water pump out in long island sound 2 hours into a 2 week trip. Was able to get to the nearest dock asked the local marina if they could remove and press on the pully from my old pump to the new one. They said sure if I waited 4 days. I asked if I could tie up for a few hours and ran to Napa to get a pully puller. Swapped the pully right there in the salon and back on our way 4 hours later. I since carried that pully puller with me in my tool kit which more than certainly guaranteed I would never need it again now that I have one. Now with our current 450C's I don't see it coming handy but mentally I still can't take it off the boat .

I meant serpentine BELT.
