I've kept my boat in dry storage for 10 years. I am thinking about bringing it home. My question is this: if I've got a good cover, why should I be concerned? Is it really that much of a difference?

by dry storage do you mean indoor or outdoor? if outdoor, shouldnt matter. if you were stored on an indoor rack and now it'll be outdoors in your driveway, UV lite, theft, vandalism are possible reasons to be concerned. also the pain of hooking it up to the car and towing it down when you want to use it.

UV is the single most important factor in the degradation of gel coating. much more than rain, snow and salt (doubt you get much snow in SC). i wouldnt worry that much about it if you keep a good coat of wax on her. but it is a consideration.
