Boat shopping never seems to end. The quest continues.

Weather is slowing down the process. Just waiting for the weather to warm up so we can move forward with the hull and engine surveys.

Absolutely! Just waiting till it doesn't drop below freezing so he can unwinterize the boat and we can more forward with the surveys. I'm guessing we are a solid 2-3 weeks before it's safe to unwinterize. Is "unwinterize" even a word??

Also want to wait for the roads to clean up a bit. There is no way I'd want a boat being transported in the next week or two.

Curious about your Bertram 31. Did you enjoy it and how did it handle the big water?

LOVED it. Up at 230am, head 40-90 miles offshore, troll till 4pm, run home asap (up to 26.5knt cruise) and take about 145 gallons with the Cummins 6BTA 300hp engines. I screwed up during the redo and made it too nice. I never fished it and all I did was cruise and wash it.

We have a few old Berts in our port that are mainly charter fishers. Great hulls for Lake Michigan in all conditions. I used to spend time on a neighbor's 42 and later his 28.

I would think mid March here in the Lou, i bought my 380 in mid January 2019, so we did the sea trial on Feb 4 and I coordinated the surveyor at the same time. To run antifreeze through my 454’s and Genny is very cheap and fast. We didn’t put water on the fresh water system or waste system. But we did run the ac. I think the marina charged me 250-300 bucks to rewinterize the 4 Sustems. Good luck! Hope all goes well!

Going on 2 days of sunshine here in the Philadelphia area and I am losing my mind! I'm so ready for boating season to begin, till I realize there is still snow on the ground and it's 40 outside.

Still just a nice, constant 85° here in Florida - sorry....

Boat will be unwinterized on/around March 13. It'll be a little challenge getting everything coordinated. Survey, engine survey with sea trail and coordinating the transport. I gotta search again for the number but I spoke to Chris (is he C&J transport?) and he seemed very knowledgeable and able to do the transport.

I'm feeling like this will actually happen!!

Weather is warming up! Trying to coordinate the hull survey, engine survey and transport. If all gores well I should be able to close around 3/26. Doubt it will be much before then due to all the moving parts. Also not in a huge rush right now considering the condition of the roads.

You are the SeaNile that posted about your Bert on THT back in 2008/2009?. I recall reading about it and looking at the pictures and thinking about how gorgeous the boat is.

Yep, that's me. Traded offshore fishing for a SeaRay and waterfront restaurants!
