So I'm new to the boat life but have a 16' 270 SDX and struggled the first time I had to load it. I had a buddy in the truck while I drove the boat up on the trailer. He had some experience with loading boats but his experience was with pontoon's. Excuse my lack of proper boat trailer terminology. So we got the boat in what we thought was the right position with the bow in tight to the front supports and cranked the winch strap down. He then pulled the boat out of the water andafter we stopped we noticed the bow had slid back away from the supports by 4-5". There was no moving it with the winch cable. So we backed it back in the water several times and I tried to power the boat up onto the trailer further. Looked fine in the water but again it seperated after pulling out. We finally had to get the truck moving and slam on the brakes to get the bow back up snuggly into the supports. Not 100% sure this trailer was built for this boat as I am a second owner. Dealership says they "setup" this trailer for my boat! What am i doing wrong? Trailer too far or not far enough in the water to load? Wrong trailer?
