It's a bittersweet day as we watched our boat leave its slip for the last time. I mentioned to my marine mechanic that I was thinking of putting our boat on the market. A week later, one of his customers with a Viking flybridge made a full cash offer before the boat was launched. We were surprised to learn that the boat has increased tremendously in value for each of the past five years. The engine and hull survey said the boat is in "like new" condition. Pretty good after 15 years of cruising all over the Lake Michigan, Huron and the North Channel. Helps ease the pain. The new owner knows how to take care of boats. He just sold a beautiful older Viking.

See how you are now, post, post post, but nothing I saw about selling, survey or any clue. LOL

Congrats on the sale, hold the memories on to next...

Good Luck, MM

We don't have any specific plans for a new boat. The other day I was figuring that I have on the order of 8-10 thousand hours running boats of various types including outboards, sailboats and power boats. Some pilots I know consider that a career and retire. So maybe I'm retired now. Technically, I am still working at training medical students at MSU but am close to hanging that up as well. Will be celebrating my 75th birthday in a bit. Our yardwork alone could keep us busy every day even though we have a mowing service now. I do plan on ordering a new Porsche in the next two or three weeks if my local dealer has an allocation. If so, a new toy will show up in early September. We have lots of friends who own boats and they are easily rented on our lake. So, we will likely be boating for a while longer.
Just returned from a nice top down ride and noticed the Tiara is backed into its new slip down the lake from us. Nice to see. On a not so nice note, our 1986 300 Weekender is sitting on a trailer in Grand Haven. It looks to be pretty trashed and has the same canvas that we put on it when we redid the boat completely when it was brand new. So no updates since the late 80s and it shows.

Wow - love your Tiara, in fact I like your whole setup there on the lake. I bet that slip will have something in it soon. Porsche’s aren’t THAT much fun...

Targa, Targa, Targa!
That's what my youngest son says. He has a 911S and wants a Targa. I wish he would buy my current car instead. He is conflicted, and stubborn and can't used to seeing a Boxter that is faster than his 911.

You will be missed... hope you still come by and say hi....

Wow!!!good luck with what ever you do I really enjoyed seeing your boat in your sig ,hope you hang around on here

What a surprise! I hope you do end up getting another boat soon. Always enjoy your photos.

Just about spit out my coffee on this one. I have become quite accustomed to that Tiara at the dock pic. Life is a journey. Don't be a stranger.
