Question, One of the guys at the marina has a Searay 260 sundancer. He asked me to look at the boat when it was all secured in the slip and it appears it is sitting lower on the starboard side. We bounced the boat and it still looks off or tilted.

He said he has never had this issue and last year the boat sat "square" in the water or even on both sides. Never had the issue so I did not know what to tell him. I thought maybe is was fuel and I forgot to ask if he was empty or full

Anyone see this before?

Sure. It's nothing too unusual to see a boat listing a bit (especially a narrow beam boat) at rest. There's any number of variables that can cause this.

First, what year 260DA?

Second, what does "sitting lower on the starboard side" mean? We need to quantify this statment.

It could be related to the tanks (fuel, water, holding, hot water). It could be rain water in the bilge (hopefully not raw water). It could be equipment, or lack of equipment compared to last year. And there's probably more things that I'm forgetting.

A full fresh water tank and an empty holding tank makes mine list a little in the slip...

Thanks all, talked with him this evening and he has no water or fuel in the boat yet.... He is going to take care of that and then we will look it over.

Mine too! But, my fresh water tank is on the port side. A full fresh water tank would add over 200lbs, so imagine a grown man standing on one side of the boat. The 2005 model is very tippy!

Tanks, and fullness or lack thereof make a huge difference. Mine lists to port when water tank is full. However, all the others, fuel, waste have an effect as well.

Is there a cooler on board? Or did he put equipment/supplies in different compartments than last year? All of these may have a bearing on the listing of a vessel.
