Bluechart g2 Vision card, does anyone have it?

So it sounds like you give it a :thumbsup: and I need to dump my barely used 3205 for something that will let me do the G2 Vision stuff and a bonus would be it uses regular memory sticks and not the garmin proprietary ones.

So what is comparable to the 3205 in size and features but allows for the G2 Vision cards?

I'm having trouble justifying $1,000 for a GPS for a two week trip! The rest of the time we don't really need a GPS. It's just a fancy toy. Still, we need one to keep us off the rocks and to find our way. I think if I do this, I might as well get a fancy one that HAS the Vision features? I don't know enough to make an educated decision!

It is not going to help you get through unfamiliar waters any better than the pre-loaded charts. It does open up a whole lot of nice features on the unit which in my opinion makes it worth the money. My favorite window to use while cruising is the Mariners Eye. The Mariners Eye works without the card but with the card it actually colors the water red, yellow and blue so you can see where it is safe to go at a glance. The auto-routing feature is pretty damn cool too. I don't normally use the satellite photos on land as they slow the unit down a bit, but that is another feature you get with Vision. The 3D Fish Eye view is pretty neat also.
