Excellent post! Thank you! Gives me something to look forward to as I haven't seen them in years! My kids have never seen them. Hmmmm.... maybe a boat trip to Annapolis.... :smt001

Does anybody know if you can see them well enough from the water(for example, the May 26, 2010 date)?

Another forum I am on gets a group together and raft up in the St Johns River just off the end of the runway in Jacksonville Fl on the years they fly out over the river, one year they fly over the river the next they fly out over the beach.

Come to Seattle in August for Seafair weekend  You can see them fine from the water - on Lake Washington. This is taken from my son's 240 DA last August.

We anchored off of the Naval Academy field, which was the "center ice" for the show!! It was STUNNING!!! Simply STUNNING!!!

We get them every other year at Jones Beach State Park, they alternate with the Thunderbirds. IMO the Angels cater more to the boating crowd and fly much closer to the deck than the T-Birds.

I’m planning on going on may 26; this will be my first time to see the Blue Angels in Annapolis….as work has gotten in the way in the past. Could some of you that have been there in the past fill me in on the best place to anchor and enjoy the show? Is there any restricted areas? Last year we went to Solomon’s and saw the Pax Naval air show it was great.

Thanks for any advice.
Bill

So is the May 26 USNA the actual air show? Nothing on that Fri but a fly-by for graduation?

2011 The Blues will perform directly overhead at our marina. No need to even leave the slip to see the show.

A couple of years ago the Admiral and I were in a new high rise condo building in San Francisco and talked them into taking us to the 60th floor. It happened to be fleet week and the Angels were flying UNDER us! It was so freaking cool to stand on a balcony looking down at them with the bridge in the background and all. :smt038 :smt038 :smt038

The actual show is on the 26th and practice is the 25th. The show lasts about 45 minutes to an hour. I have read in other forums practice day is the best. I am planning on heading down on the 25th. I have been in the past and it is a great show. This will be the first time going on my boat. [FONT=verdana, arial, helvetica]The river is usually closed by 10:30AM to traffic, and the Blue Angels can be viewed making practice runs through 3PM or so.

I'm interested in seeing the practice or show by boat. I would assume that practice day might be best due to less folks being out to see practice. Does anyone know what of any restrictions there will be on boat traffic on either day?

Also, it appears that the best area to see the show would be just off the Academy Field. Any tips for a first timer to this area. From the videos available on youtube it appears that just about anywhere in the area would be fine. I also assume that there will be a significant police presence to assure that no one wanders into prohibited areas. Does anyone here have any advice of areas to specifically avoid?

Hope to see some of my fellow CSR folks there.
