Hi all, happy new year. I'm looking for some advice on how to remove black specks and general mold or grime from my Searay vinyl seats. I have a 2018 Searay 190SPX. The seats have gradually become worse over time, I live in Hong Kong and it is a very humid climate.

The forums seem to have a several threads with varying degrees of advice on what / what not to use but was hoping someone could chime in with sound advice on how to remove the stains without damaging the vinyl. These are fully exposed to the sun during the day as they are on most of the front seats. The boat is dry docked and under cover when not in use.

Many thanks in advance.

Wash off what you can with mild detergent. Afterwards mix a weak solution of bleach and water. 10/1 and spray the mildew spots. Let it sit. You can also soak a towel in the bleach solution and lay it on the more stubborn spots. After the bleach treatment leave the boat in full sun for a few hours.

I am pretty sure most of these cleaners are going to contain some bleach. Directions say to use it and then rinse well. As blaster states, the sun is your friend. I have had good success with the cleaners, a good rinse, and letting the sun do the rest. Treat with a good protectant(303) afterwards.

Do not use a Magic Eraser. There is enough abrasives in one to remove the finish. If you must use one, use it very lightly and sparingly.
