Wow what a thread! I have a super inexpensive pair, my neighbor gave them to me after we past the sand bar and I couldn’t quite make out the bikinis. Queen likes to sit on the bow and take in the sights. I’ll post a pic tomorrow, I’m guessing they were less than $100. Fun to have though.
Update, sorry for no picture, see my post in our 290 thread, heading back down tomorrow and I'll try to remember.

======================You get what you pay for. 7X50 have a wider field of view than 7X30 and anything over 7 magnification will probably need stabilization on a moving boat. I use the Steiner 7X50. Set them up once and they never need focussing. I have a pair that I bought in 1990 and they still work fine, no fogging, no moisture inside, and no focussing needed.

I beg to disagree, oftentimes you get LESS than you pay for.
Fujinon stabilized binocs here, and a cheapo set for the kids.
Wretched excess........ perhaps.
However I have a bad case of Diplopia - Double Vision.
Wouldn't be that serious an issue on land.
On a boat, moving in all directions, well good luck.
If you amortize the cost over your future boating career, it's really not a big deal.
For me, with this condition, makes all the difference in the world.
If you do go high end, change the batteries when you change the smoke detectors. Also, invest in a hard shell, foam filled protective case.
Do not ever let the "kids" use them, and be careful who you share them with.
They are a precision instrument, not to be tossed around.
Finally, if you know someone with a set, ask to try them out ON A MOVING BOAT.
Believe me, it's NOT the same as standing in the West Marine store!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BEST !
