Bimini trip July 27...anyone??

So is there anyone from CSR attending the 27th Bimini trip? All is looking well so far (fingers crossed)! I think I have the boat ready and as comfy as possible for the Admiral to spend a few days out on. Unloading old stuff and reloading with new stuff for a long trip is a PITA..especially in this heat! I can't imagine you guys with the big boats and having to cart everything back and forth down the dock:smt101.

Now the question is..to dingy or not to dingy:huh:
 
You won't have enough time to enjoy the dingy for that short of trip, glad I didn't bring mine.:grin:
 
Cart everything back and forth on the dock? We just leave everything on the boat as it is always loaded with most things we need for a trip. As with most people (everyone I know anyway) we just bought extra stuff specifically for the boat and the only thing we have to carry is extra clothes, food and beer. All else is already on the boat.

Have a great time in Bimini, hope weather holds out for you.
 
Been having a great time and just got the call....CANCELLED :(. Bad winds and high seas! That's my luck:(.

Donnie, Sorry to hear that!!!! We are planning the Abacos trip next may, it's a 11 day trip if i remember right.
 
Heck, Your already down there, go down to Islamorada/The Keys!!! What's everyones plans now? How many boats showed up for the trip?

Did you trailer down and then got the message that it was cancelled. If so that would suck. If you're already there you might as well enjoy some boating!
 
Stay at Bahia Mar and cruise the New River. Pretty neat place and couple of restaurants to tie up to as well. Really nice cruise, we were just there 3 weeks ago. Go up and down the ICW, many place to have a couple drinks. Enjoy the beautiful beach at Bahia Mar, hell you can walk to it over the road or use th bridge from Bahia Mar. I would recommend taking the water taxi just to cruise around as the captains and first mate give you a little history lesson as well. And you can also cruise south to Miami Beach just for a nice cruise as well. Plenty to do in Ft. Lauderdale area, make the best of it.
 
It should, but I might add a 30-40 gallon fuel bladder tank just in case:thumbsup:
 
A 280 has enough fuel to do from West End to Spanish Cay. I know because I did it twice, not a problem. Actually has enough to go from West End to Green Turtle if properly trimmed and all that.

I went to Bimini this weekend and was looking forward to meeting some of the Fling people. A little rough for the first 1/2 on Saturday morning but smoothed out some 15 miles from Bimini. Great ride coming back yesterday. Some excitement yesterday AM when a large sport fish on one motor got crossed up leaving Big Game. Hit one boat, pinned a guy against a piling (not seriously hurt but nasty bruises) and so the rodeo went. I've never seen more sting rays at Honeymoon Harbor.

I think we have meet. I was also going to attend the Fling that same time. We meet at the boat ramp and. I just pulled out, with great difficulty due to low tide. I have a gulf stream blue formula 27 pc with a white ford f250 and I trailers down from indianapolis.
PI am thinking of making a run to Bimini this year the second weekend of June. I am going to try and leave on Monday and return on Friday giving me time to trailer down from Indy and then the weekend to trailer back. I would love to be part of a group if it works, but I am not going to wait for a specific time, like the boating fling, to make the crossing. There is too big of a chance the seas will not be favorable so I need to go when the conditions are right. Let me know if you are person I meet at the ramp at I believe was called harbor town?.
