Bimini Blast

Skippers, here is a rare situation. My yacht Club (www.lyc.org) has an annual Bimini Trip with Fishing Tourney, Family Friendly events and otherwise lots of merry making. We've always been at the Big Game which is now closed. This year it will be at the Bimini Bay Yacht Club in the northern part of North Bimini. This is a new marina with floating docks, great new pool, and new cottage like accomdations for rent as well.

What is really different is that members are being allowed, infact encouraged, to invite non members to partisipate either by bringing their boat and joining in the event, this is a first in my memory, bringing non member crew to partisipate.

This is not a memebership drive and we actually have a waiting list for membership at this time. But if there was interest in joining a "salty, stalwart and venerable" YC in the Broward area this could be a unique chance to meet potential sponsors (takes 5) and gain friendship and support for a later membership effort.

Membership interest or not, this event is lots of fun, and will be based at Bimini Bay.
There maybe a small partisipation fee for group meals, open bar, DJ's and such, but that hasn't been determind as yet as the final planning is still under way.

The dates are August 6th - August 9th.

Our Club Fishing Fleet, Sailing Racers, Adult and Family Cruising Groups will all have contingents in the fleet. I'm told it might be as many as 40 boats in the flotilla.

Non Member partisipation in the event would be through a memebr sponsor such as my self. If this would interest any of my CSR buddies as skippers or crew, let me know by PM here or at my regular email asureyes@aol.com

Hi Chad, Would love to go back, either on my boat or as crew (depending on what I can afford).....just too early yet for me to see if I can work wise.. but aren't those the dates for the trip to Port Lucaya?

Barry is correct, some of us are re-doing the Port Lucaya trip that was sidelined by the seas Aug. 6-10.
