Bimini Big Game to re-open

I read this morning that Big Game will re-open on May 1st. Not just the marina but also the restaurant and some of the rooms. The fuel dock won't be ready until a future date.

Anyone interested in attending the grand re-opening?

I visited the old Big Game web site and it has been shut down. I went to the Guy Harvey Outpost Resort web site and there wasn't any page or link available for Big Game. I guess they'll be setting up a new site soon.

I called the US number for Outpost Resorts and spoke to a person who confirmed that May 1 is the target date for opening. She took down my email and said they would be sending something out me soon.

My wife and I went there for our anniversary 2 years (I think) ago in October. Booked a room with them a couple months in advance, got to customs in Bimini and the agent said, "Where are you staying?" I said "Big Game Club" and he said, "I'm not too sure about that..." Luckily I found the skeleton crew there and they got us a room at the Sea Crest. Had a great time, but I was so disappointed the Club wasn't open. That's great news to hear that they're reopening. Sounds like you're saying Guy Harvey bought it? Hope he makes it. The damn Bimini Bay Resort has been devasting to the old downtown area businesses, despite they're promises...
 
Randy...I guess it's like everything else these days...just a function of $$$$:huh:

I'm itching to get back over there sometime.....got the itch bad for another boat too. Work is still scarce but I am seeing a flicker of life here and there. Sort of like looking for Gas, Ice and Beer after a storm.:grin:

Glad you posted this.. I was going to let you know (as I had spoken last week to them) but have been home sick since then. There will be a soft opening and then the grand opening, though the renovations they want to do will take about a year. I have the contact name & number for the guy running it for Guy Harvey Resorts, if you want it, email me and I'll give it to you. I'm going to see when they need me over there for some graphics work for them... Don't know what the rates are going to be yet, and surprised that the restaurant will also be open then...

i'll porpoise all the way there... enough golds after i get there and i wont feel the pain of losing 3" in height from the pounding...
 
Minimum required length is 17', boat must have a cool name like "SandBar" or better, have a motor rigged before departure plus a steering wheel with one of those little knobs.
p.s. I think Odyssey should get one of those little knobs too....it's the little things in life that makes it all worthwhile.

Update..... The improvements to Big Game are moving slower than expected (island time mon). They are hoping for a May 15th opening.
