Bimini 26th 27th

Without pictures this thread is useless (Grin) Come on guy we need some pictures so we can be jealous of that clean clean water.

Kind of a rainy weekend but still some blue skies and great water. Not to mention a USCG that tracked us and the cutter that stopped us.

Awesome pictures, you can never get too much of that water. Thanks for sharing them. What can you say about the CG other than they are doing their job (Grin) Now did you take the pictures of the chopper before or after they stopped you? I know the CG got mad at us when where took pictures of the subs by Charleston.

The pictures were after. They knew I had a gun and they had a cannon. Cannon>.357. In that scenario, I always keep hands where they can see them and don't want anyone rummaging through a bag to find a camera.

Tom, Sounds like a little excitement on the way back .. the photos of that beautiful water made me wish I was there..

Did you stay at Bimini Bay? How was it there.. It's a beautiful facility, especially that pool area..

Was it crowded? Post some more photos if you can..You too Jack...

Wish Adam & I could have been there with you and Jack, but he is busy with his new job, and with the Florida Panther Hockey season starting, it's my busiest time.(thankfully) ..Would love to go again in the next month if the Gulfstream cooperates, but the window to get over is rapidly closing...

Glad you all had a great time.. And I'm marking my calendar for the first Bimini Fling of the 2010 Summer :)

It seems the ONLY time i get boarded by the CG is coming and going from the Bahamas. Usually pretty nice, but once took them over 45 mins to get the boarding party ready to board us, while we were bobbing at idle speed. That sucked, especially since I did not have autopilot at the time. I would love to see some pics as well.

Bimini Bay is very nice and it was deserted. We stayed at the Fishing side. The pool is indeed spectacular. I guess it's just me but I'd rather stay at Brown's. Much easier to clear imigration. Bimini Bay only has officials there on very busy weekends. That means two cab fares and about 2 hours to get all the paperworks sorted vs. 20 minutes at Brown's. Brown's also has that local feel. Bimini Bay feels more like South America and they are hustling slip and condo sales.

Sounds like you had a great summer. I'm looking forward to the trips next year.

I probably won't stay in Bimini Bay, as they wouldn't even let me tie up a dinghy to go to lunch. The marina was fricken empty, it is just their policy. The Bahamas are supposed to be casual and laid back. Even the locals don't like it much, except for the lucky ones that are employed there.
