I was hoping to head out to Nantucket this weekend. It's our last full weekend of the summer as the kids get locked into sports and other activities.

Looks like Bill will probably put a damper on any boating activities. :smt013 :smt089

Anyone else planning time on the water around the Cape this weekend?

We've been to the Cape (Wellfleet, P-town a couple of times) and Nantucket over the past couple of weeks. Great trips all. Sorry we won't be out this weekend - I hope the weather cooperates for you.

take those sea sick pills. The swells will be wild.

You will be fine.....If you can come home late Sunday or better yet Monday, you will be fine.......I am assuming you will be at the basin so you will be nice and snug...I am going to the Vineyard....

Going to OB this weekend. Wife is already nervous, which has the youngest nervous. I told her if she wants to stay, I can get some of the boys to go. Then I got the look.

I have to humbly disagree as a guy who takes a 280 to the Vineyard regularly. What I see in the forecast is 6-8' seas on Sunday. Not a day to be out for pleasure. Either way, best of luck and be safe.

I was going to go up to our house on the Cape this weekend but am calling it off. Its going to be a blah weekend up there.

Looking like it will be 12-24' swells and tropical storm winds. No time to be on a 260 in that area. Considering a last minute haul out to western NY to escape the weather... Being "towable" has its advantages.

Call Dail a Bouy on Saturday and Sunday to get the conditions in Nantucket Sound
888-701-8992
bouy #44020 is in the center of Nantucket Sound

Go here to get the info on the web:

The winds are at 17.5 knots and gusting to 21.4 knots now with peak wave height at 1.6 feet. The pressure is falling. Stay tuned. It's going to be a wild ride.

We went out this afternoon for the first time this weekend. The mouth of the Merrimack was closed as well as anything else opening onto Ipswich Bay. We went out just to the mouth of the Ipswich River at high tide and there had to be 10' breakers coming over the sandbar off the end of Plum Island. There was actually surf off Crane and Steep Hill Beaches. We were planning to be out for the weekend, glad we called it off.

What do you mean it was closed?

We had a great time up in Alexandria Bay, NY. Weather Sat was perfect, Sun was misty, but great fun. Glad we diverted West and got a weekend on the water in.

Went over to OB on Friday morning (left at 9:30). Buzzards Bay was worse than Vineyard Sound. 2 foot in BB and 1-2 in Vineyard Sound. Came back this morning had 1 foot all the way. It was the quickest we ever went to OB and back. Saw the copters bringing over Barack yesterday and there was news stations all over the place. ABC Nightly news broadcast 3 slips down from us.
