while inspecting my bilge system (frwd and aft) there seems to be a common problem of the discharge fitting/clamp leaking, right off the pump. In the aft, I have an attwood 1700 leaking either within the blue screw fitting, or where the thin corrugated drain pipe attached to the pvc barb. Frwd pump issue is different but same. The attwood sahara s750 which sits within my standard shower sump box, again the discharge clamp holding the corrugated pipe to the poly barb Of the box this time, just isn't water tight enough.
Aside: the leak(s) are observed while pump(s) are in action.

So the real question is(keeping my existing piping):
Does anyone have a magical solution for clamping down corrugated pipe to pvc fittings? Regular hose clamps just seem to be insufficient.
My ideas thus far have been, wrap the pvc pump barb with thick plumbers rubber band/tape, then slide the corrugated pipe over the bunch, and then clamp down.
Or explore double-wire or spiral-type clamps, for more of a bite inside the ridges.

Heat the pipe to make it more pliable and then clamp it.

There should be a smooth section every foot or two to clamp off on. If you don't have such a section, probably best to replace the hose.

Further inspection, you're completely right, there are smooth sections every foot or two. On my shower sump box, tightened the clamp best I could and now only have a drip drip leak, which I am fine with as I have a secondary pump outside the box that cleans up all else. In the stern, apparently Attwood1700 blue screw fittings on their 45deg, are designed to allow 'leak' as a method of controlling pressure, theres actually 4 holes....(per Attwood customer service, seem weird but couldnt be bother to argue.) I also have a secondary pump there too, so I am closing the folder on bilge pumps for as long as I am able to.
