I have a few areas in the bilge where the paint/gelcoat has lifted and raw fiberglass is showing. What paint is used for this touch up and is there a prep procedure? Also where can you buy this paint to match the same color. The parts list calls it Gel coat, color is Oyster.

Thanks for the reference perfect!!

I bought a quart of this and I am still applying it.....

Spectrum is crazy expensive, I have a 2”x4” area that needs touching up but $150 for a quart of paint is a bit much.
If you're referencing the "Spectrum" that we typically talk about here, it's not paint. It's gelcoat. Also, that would be crazy to buy a quart of product when you can get it in much smaller sizes - a few ounces. Just google for it - it's easy to find. Or, sand and use bilge paint as referenced above - and there are many other threads about this, which can be found via searching.

I use interlux bilgekote in gray and I am very happy. It does need to be applied thin and can take a few days to cure Imgur it comes out really nice

Mark,

How close did this color match in your bilge?

Did you add a hardener?

THANKS !

Actually I really need to do the busy parts of the bilge - as a freshen up and want something that will be easy to maintain.

I don't mind doing the prep and will only do this task with a high quality product that I can brush on and will be an exact match to the existing color for my model/year.

Guess I'm spoiled as my 10 meter was designed as a full liner boat and her liners were a perfect smooth gelcoat.
