I seem to remember a lady getting hit in Fla. in a similar incident a year or two ago. I don't think "how to avoid flying fish injuries" was covered in my safety class.

The law of unintended consequences is alive and well. This is getting to be a problem in Mid-western rivers.

I was in a canoue in a sheltered area off the gulf behind my in-laws in Port Richey Florida a few years back. I got smacked in the chest by a mullet, and it felt like a good punch. The mullet was flopping around in the boat and I had a big welt on my chest. I'm not a good fisherman and this was probably my best catch ever!!
