I just had A/C installed on my 270 and the unit has the option to run the fan continuously or cycle on and off with the compressor. Which way is recommended the most? It's a Marine Air Enviro 10k btu reverse cycle unit, and this thing works great. Just looking for the most effective way to run it. Thanks.

I have mine set so the fan turns off when the compressor shuts off. I don't see any value to running the fan continuosly.

I have to run my fan constantly or the compressor freezes up. What I've found is on auto the fan slows to a much lower speed as the room temp comes close to the set temp. That drastically reduced air flow isn't enough air moving across the fins and eventually it will freeze. If I leave it set on the highest fan setting (6) all the time it will never freeze. Btw, just had a marine ac guy out to replace the fresh water pump. He also cleaned and inspected everything, including freon levels and everything checked perfect.

I would think that it would be just a matter of comfort. My fan runs constantly which I have gotten used to. Possibly the fan coming on during the night would disturb some people's sleep? The compressor freezing up as Lucky stated would be a good reason for it to run constantly.

I haven't had any issues yet with it freezing up, but I prefer not to hear the fan all the time. This weekend was my first with it so I'll keep a close watch on it.

Lucky, does your unit allow you to adjust the speed of the fan in low and high settings? My unit can adjust the low end and high end fan speed, then it resets in equal increments from 1-6. This may be a way to raise your low speed so as to keep more air flowing across the coils until the unit cycles off. Thanks for the info guys.
