I see a lot of Searays posted with what could be advertising shots showing a perfectly polished logo area above the gunwale but below the side windshield. I can't get my rotary in that area decently due it the rails being in the way along with an antennae, emblems that grab, etc.. I can only get the larger openings. What are people using the reach in that area and get that beautiful look?

I have used a right angle drill with a 3" wool buffing pad.

Me too. Makita's side handle buffer gets into almost all of those tight spots. When it doesn't I apply some elbow grease. Works every time.

My Makita 9227 has a tough time with some of those spots too, and up until now I've always resorted to the elbow grease, but I like the idea of the right angle drill and 3" pads.
I've got a cordless right angle drill and a whole bunch of batteries for it.
What pads do you use? What kind of backing plate or mounting system for them? Where do you get them?

i bought a mothers power cone. its a cone shaped foam attachment for the drill. i haven't used it yet but looks like it will fit in some of those tight spots

I also have the mini power ball from Mothers. It really works great! I use it in the cockpit.

I have a full size Dewalt rotary. Does anyone make a compact pad kit? 5/8" arbor I think
I usually get my pads from Autogeek. They have different sizes.
After reading this thread I wanted to get the adapter so I could use my right angle drill for tight spots like H2ONUT does. I found what I needed at autodetailingsolutions.net and ordered it. They also have 3" wool pads. I prefer wool pads over foam for use on the boat.
