Hi,
Looking for a place to stop between Sandusky and Port Huron. Any suggestions for clean marina with Restaurant/Bar and some nightlife. Thanx ahead of time. Around July 30

+1

MacRay Harbor is one of the best marinas in the Great Lakes. The restaurant and bar are not what they used to be, but a shuttle will take you anywhere you want to go.

Both Mac Rays and Jefferson Beach are great. I'm not sure what your defination of night life is..to me its night clubs and packed bars with lots of people and drinking.

If you want close night life Jefferson beach is it!! A bar called the Beach Grill is the best club in the area also there is Jacks waterfront which gets pretty packed there to, kind of a half restaurant half sports bar feel. Then you have Waves too..any way 3 great night time bars with in a 1/4 mile

As for Macrays the Marina is awsome... clean Lots of facilitys (Gym, Pool, Good showers, Laudry mat...ect) To get to night life you would need to head in to Mt Clemens which is about 10 miles away. They may have a shuttle but you would need a cab back. The bar and restauraunt at Mac Ray's is no off the hook party I can tell you that. The marina is more family friendly if you know what I mean

If you plan to hang out for the day on a Sat or Sunday you have to and I mean you have to go to Muscamoot bay if you like to party....like spring break every weekend

Have a safe trip

Thanks! How far from Sandusky Bay?

We are 2 miles from Beach Grille and about 2-3 hours from Cedar Pointe on a calm day. Hope that helps.

You'll love the trip. Beautiful ride. The Beach Grille is a blast if you like to tip a few.

Oh, and there is fuel right there too. Although fill-up in Ohio, it is significantly cheaper.

Thanks,
Looks like July 30th in Windsor at Lakeview Park then to Grand Bend Municipal and gonna try to finish it off Sun and Mon at Jefferson Beach. Any Recommendations on reservations for any of these? Definately gonna try to hit Muskamoot Bay. How far from Jefferson Beach is that? Johnston Bay? Never been to the area

Jefferson Beach is a great choice. Muskamoot is about 8-10 miles away, just north of where Lake St. Clair goes into the St. Clair Cutoff or South Channel. It is in U.S waters. This is not Johnson Bay. That is further east and in Canadian waters. Ever hear of JobbieNooner? Check out www.jobbienooner.com That happens only about a mile from Muskamoot every June on Gull Island. Muskamoot doesn't get that crazy, but on the occasional hot Saturday or Sunday it does get close!

Don't know if you travel Canada much or not. They are great over there but laws have changed since June 1 coming back into the states. Make sure you know all the latest, have at least a passport for everyone on the boat and an I-68 would be better. Stepped up patrols in this area lately.

Like said it is about 8 miles away. Takes me like 20 min to get to Jefferson Beach from Muscamoot going about 30mph. I can tell you that it is well worth the trip there is honestly not much like it in all of the great lakes.

Kind of imagine Put In bay city docks but in shallow water. Boats raft up with backs to each other creating a mile long walk way of nothing but a great party. Its called the gauntlet. Google "muscamoot bay"

Have a safe trip!!

You need to be a bit careful with the depth. The whole NE side of Lake St. Clair is very shallow. Make sure you have a current chart or a GPS that covers the area.

Have fun.

sb in gp is right, can be a little scary watching your depth finder. Suggestion, ask some of the people who are going out if they are also going to Muskamoot, then just follow them. Chances are good it won't take long to find a leader. Once you get over the hump at the front end of the bay (stay on plane!) you have good water all the way to where you will be dropping anchor. ENJOY!!!

The best place to stay in Windsor, Ontario would be at the City Marina which is the most modern and fully staffed in the Area, this is located at the mouth of Lake St Clair and there is a bar right there called Lilly Kazilly's. It is a great place to spend the night and the marina can handle yatchs if need be.
