    Hello,

I just purchased a 1986 Sea Ray 160 that I would like to have all ready for spring. The interior is in really good shape but it's missing the dash cover on the passenger side, I can build the wood portion easy enough and if I was able to find the matching green vinyl I could do the upholstery myself... only problem is that I'm not sure where to find it. Sorry for the bad pic but it's the same green as the darker green on the back sun deck pad. Anybody have any suggestions?

Unfortunately there is no "stock" of old vinyl laying around in any Sea Ray factory. And there are no stores where you can search for your model/year. You can try ebay, but even that is a long shot. Your best bet will be to take a section of the existing green vinyl to a local upholsterer or fabric store and match it up, as best as possible, that way.

you can also have vinyl dyed to any color you want....I had my cockpit seats re-dyed about a year ago and they still look great...the color is a perfect match to the other vinyl in the cockpit....I used this company......

they come to your boat to do the work and the cost is very reasonable.....

Thanks for the help guys, I just saw a few close greens on ebay and you can buy $1 samples so I'll get some of those. If none of those are close then I'll start exploring other options.

Why not just do it in white and redo the dash pad to match the other whites. It will be easier to find a white to match

Because uhhhh.... I'm an idiot and didn't even think of doing that but it sure makes a lot of sense and if one of the samples I just ordered isn't a perfect match I'll go that route.

+1 on Sailrite - I have dealt personally with Matt over there and they are great people to work with!

Anything you see on the internet will be suspect since the actual color of something almost always differs form what you see on your computer screen. Your best bet is to take a sample to a decent fabric store.

    Right.

That’s why I obtained the samples mentioned above resulting in a perfect match.

I have also dealt with sailrite and have found matching vinyl on their site. They have a great selection of supplies for the do it yourself person as myself. So far I have built a jumpseat for my 240 weekender and revinyled the side panels on my 88 Bayliner Capri Cutty Cab in two colors. Their videos make doing projects alot easier.
